Past Future Tense sala satu struktur bahasa inggris yang juga di perlukan dalam berbahasa inggris. kali ini kita akan membahas rumus past future tense

A.      KALIMAT VERBAL

Rumus : Subject + should/would + infinitive

             Subject + was/were going to + infinitive

  1.       Kalimat berita (affirmative) dalam Past Future Tense

Contoh :

   -          I should finish my homework

   -          I was going to finish my homework

   -          We would visit our grandmother

   -          She would buy new cloth

   -          She was going to buy new cloth

Catatan                                  

   -          I would disingkat menjadi I’d

   -          You Would disingkat menjadi You’d

   -          We Would disingkat menjadi We’d

   -          They Would disingkat menjadi They’d

   -          She Would disingkat menjadi She’d

   -          He Would disingkat menjadi He’d

Namun jangan sampai keliru dengan I’d (I had), You’d (You Had), We’d (we had), They’d (They had), She’d (She had), He’d (He had).

Cara membedakannya adalah dengan melihat kata kerja yang mengikutinya, yaitu apabila yang mengikutinya adalah kata kerja bentuk past participle, maka I’d berarti I had. Sedangkan kalau yang mengikutinya adalah kata kerja bentuk infinitive, maka I’d berarti I would. Itulah sala satu rumus past future tense

Contoh :

-          I’d play : I would Play

-          I’d played : I had Played

2.       Kalimat menyangkal (negative) dengan rumus past future tense

Contoh :

-          I shouldn’t finish my homework

-          I wasn’t going to finish my homework

-          We weren’t going to visit our grand mother

-          She wouldn’t buy new cloth

-          She wasn’t going to buy new cloth

3.       Kalimat Tanya (Interrogative) dalam past future tense

-          Should I finish my homework?

-          Was I going to finish my homework?

-          Would we visit our grandmother?

-          Were they going to visit our grandmother?

-          Would she buy new cloth?

-          Was she going to buy new cloth?

Catatan :

Should digunakan dalam kalimat Tanya yang mempunyai pengertian “seharusnya”

Contoh :

-          Should I go now?

Haruskah saya pergi sekarang?

-          Should I See a doctor?

Haruskah saya pergi ke dokter

Would digunakan dalam kalimat Tanya yang mempunyai pengertian untuk menyatakan suatu permintaan

Contoh :

-          Would you like eat?

Sudikah kamu makan?

-          Would you come to my party ?

Sudikah kamu datang ke pestaku?

    B.      KALIMAT NOMINAL dengan rumus past future tense

Rumus : Subject + should/would + be + bukan kata kerja

             Subject + was/were going to + be + bukan kata kerja

1.       Kalimat Berita (affirmative) dalam Past Future Tense

Contoh :

-          I should be busy

-          I was going to be busy

-          He would be in the library

-          You would be late

-          You were going to be late

2.       Kalimat Menyangkal (negative) dengan rumus past future tense

Contoh :

-          I shouldn’t be busy

-          I wasn’t going to be busy

-          He wouldn’t be in the library

-          He wasn’t going to be in the library

-          You weren’t going to be late

3.       Kalimat Tanya (Interrogative) dalam Past Future Tense

Contoh :

-          Would I be busy?

-          Was I going to be busy?

-          Would he be in the library?

-          Was he going to be in the library?

-          Were you going to be late?
